Last week I had the pleasure of taking part in Bobbi Brown’s Bridal Week at their stand-alone store in Guildford.
I had been into the store many times as a customer as I love Bobbi Brown make up but I had never stopped to think about the other ladies that visited the store. What was it they were looking for? A lesson on how to do bridal make up? A makeover for the party they were going to or simply to pick up a replacement for an item they had used up?
As I stood in the store and watched all the different types of customers it was evident to me that the staff there firmly believe in Bobbi Brown’s philosophy. ‘using makeup is a way for women to look and feel like themselves, only prettier and more confident.’
This was so evident in one lady that came into the store on her lunch break to pick up a few bits before an overseas work trip. I was chatting to her about styling while one of the fabulous Bobbi girls was gathering some products to show her.
I shared with her some of my favourite Bobbi products and why I loved them. All the while, Caroline was applying her make-up and explaining how to do it and the look you will want to achieve. Originally she had only come in for a foundation match but we all got carried away with the infection of making the customer look glam.
In the end she left looking stunning, with a bag full of brand new goodies and more importantly, feeling great. She visibly looked like she was standing taller and stronger. It was a fabulous thing to see.
It was at this moment that I realised just how similar Bobbi Brown’s philosophy is with my own for Styled by LC. I want to be show women how to use clothes to make them look and feel the best version of themselves.
It was fantastic to have the opportunity to meet these women and to see what a new lipstick could do for them, mind you it’s not hard to see why with Bobbi Brown’s gorgeous collection!
The fact that the girls were focusing on teaching brides to be how to do their own make up for their big day I thought was amazing. I personally used a make-up artist for my wedding day as it had never struck me to learn how to do it myself, but I wish I had!
Kate Middleton’s gorgeous wedding day look was achieved with Bobbi Brown products, yet she applied it all herself. If Bobbi Brown can give the future Queen of England the confidence to do her own make up on not just your average wedding day but one where millions were watching around the world then it is no wonder people are flocking to them to do the same!
If you want to create Kate’s look then you can shop the products here!
Bobbi Brown Metallic Eye Shadow - Velvet Plum (The one Kate used has been discontinued but this is a good substitute!)
I was also lucky enough to have my make-up done by Pro Artist, Hollie as she was in store for the event. Holly used a gorgeous khaki shade of eyeshadow to do my eyes called ‘Forest’. I have never tried such a green based colour on my eyes but I loved it and it is the perfect colour for this season!
The girls had also just taken delivery of the gorgeous Christmas collection. There is just something about Christmas make up. I don’t know if it’s the beautiful packaging it always comes in or the fact a lot of the colours in the ranges are limited edition, but I always find myself purchasing most of my make up during this time!
So here are my favourite items from the Bobbi Brown Christmas collection!
Bobbi Brown Luxe Gems Eye Shadow Palette – the colours in this pallet are simply gorgeous and if you have used Bobbi Brown Luxe Eye Shadow before you will know how sparkly they are! My favourite in this pallet is ‘Incandescent’.
Bobbi Brown Keep Glowing Lip & Cheek Kit - this kit is AMAZING value! You get a bronzer/highlighter, brush and lip gloss! It really is the ultimate day to night kit that you can keep in your handbag for the ‘quick festive drink’ after work! Shop here!
Bobbi Brown Luxe Jewel Lipstick - Ruby Slipper – this lipstick is the ultimate red lipstick for the festive season! It is a deep red so no orange undertones and it is also lightly sparkled, what more could you want! Shop here!
Bobbi Brown Luxe Liquid Lip Lustre - Crystal Ball – this lip gloss looks amazing on its own but it can also bring some festive sparkle to any lipstick you put it on top of. An all-round fab lip gloss! Shop here!
Finally, this is my FAVOURITE product in the collection.
Bobbi Brown Luxe Illuminating Powder - Golden Hour – shop here!
This simply stunning Illuminating powder can be used on your face or all over your body. The shine is to die for, and you can apply as much or as little as you want, depending on the look you wish to achieve.
It has a lovely silky feel to it, not like some highlighters and what is even better is that I am giving one of these away free, along with a free styling session!
For your chance to win simply follow the instructions here and good luck!
Of course you can shop all these items online but if you happen to live near a stand-alone Bobbi Brown store then I strongly recommend going in and chatting with one of the artists about your make up. They will show you the best products for you and how to use them!
